Functional Mushrooms and Adaptogens
Functional mushrooms have been integral to Eastern medical systems for centuries, recognized for their neuroprotective, immunomodulatory, and adaptogenic properties across cognitive enhancement, therapeutic, and medicinal applications.
Adaptogens are a class of bioactive compounds traditionally used in herbal medicine for their ability to modulate the stress response, support homeostasis, and enhance cognitive resilience under physiological strain.
Lion’s Mane
Known as the “Mountain Priest” mushroom in Japan, Lion’s Mane is most often used to support cognitive function and nerve health. Used by Buddhist monks for centuries to enhance focus and meditation, this mushroom is rich in compounds that promote mental clarity and neuroprotection.
Cordyceps
Cordyceps have been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine to support energy metabolism, respiratory function, and physical performance. Its effects were first observed anecdotally by yak herders who noticed increased stamina in livestock consuming the fungus. Due to its scarcity, it was historically reserved for emperors and regarded as a potent adaptogen for restoring vitality and physiological balance.
Reishi
Reishi is a functional mushroom known as the “Mushroom of Immortality” in Chinese culture, valued for over 2,000 years for its role in supporting immunity, reducing stress, and promoting longevity. In Japan, it’s revered as the “10,000-year mushroom.”
Ashwagandha
Known as a “rasayana,” or rejuvenator, ashwagandha has been a core component of Ayurvedic medicine for over 3,000 years. It is a cornerstone of India’s traditional health practices—used to relieve stress, increase energy, and support cognitive health.
Cannabis and Botanicals
Cannabis and botanicals constitute some of the earliest plant-human interactions, historically utilized for their pharmacological, nutritional, and therapeutic properties. Prior to the development of modern medical systems, these compounds were integral to traditional healing practices, cultural rituals, and the maintenance of physical and psychological well-being across diverse civilizations.
Cannabis
Cannabis has a storied history of use across cultures, dating back to ancient Central Asia, where it had both medicinal and spiritual uses. It can inspire the mind, relieve pain, and support relaxation and recovery. Today, scientific research continues to uncover how cannabinoids interact with the body to support mental clarity and physical well-being, reinforcing its enduring role in wellness.
Yerba Mate

Called the “drink of the gods” by the Guarani people of South America, yerba mate has a history rooted in ritual and community. For over a millennium, it’s been consumed in shared ceremonies, known for its unique blend of caffeine, antioxidants, and nutrients that help awaken the mind and energize the body.
Hibiscus
This vibrant flower has symbolized health and refreshment for centuries. In ancient Egypt, hibiscus tea—known as “Karkadeh”—was enjoyed by Pharaohs to cool the body and support heart health. Rich in antioxidants and tart in flavor, hibiscus contains polyphenols and anthocyanins that have been studied for their potential to lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and protect against oxidative stress.
Lavender
Native to the Mediterranean, lavender eventually took root in North America, where it became woven into Indigenous traditions as a symbol of calm and harmony—soothing the mind and supporting restful sleep.
